Amaryllis Papillo

1 item found.

Quite distinct from the Hippeastrum type it makes an ever-green plant with flowers reminiscent of orchids. Size 20cm.
Plant bulbs in fibrous loam mixed with coarse sand and leafmould with the neck just showing. Water sparingly until flower buds appear then liberally and apply a weekly liquid feed. After flowering cut off the stems near the base, cease feeding and reduce watering, but do not allow soil to dry out and do not transplant unless fully pot bound. Grow in a temperature of 50 degrees Fahrenheit rising to 60 degrees when buds begin to show.
