This section contains many of the best and most interesting bulbs collected from around the world. Many take up only a small space in the garden giving everyone the opportunity to include plants that will add interest and enjoyment to the garden. These bulbs are ideal for the rockery or herbaceous border or in combined groupings, add interest to secluded spot or walkway.
We have included specific instructions within the various category headings or in the individual descriptions. However, follow these general guides to ensure the best results:-
- Prepare your ground before planting.
- Bulbs hate standing in water so reasonable drainage is essential.
- Plant bulbs at a depth twice their size.
- Don't over feed bulbs, this can produce 'leggy' plants.
- Consider the bulb's natural habitat when choosing its location in your garden. The closer you replicate this the better your results will be.
