Yellow River has a clear yellow perianth petals which have a slight green tinge when the flower first opens. Its trumpet is slightly deeper in colour. Our Daffodils and Narcissi are ordered following the Royal Horticultural Society’s classification. Yellow River is a Division 1 – Trumpet Daffodil, these are characterised by a single flower to a stem with a trumpet which is as long, or longer, than its perianth’s segments. The difference between a daffodil and narcissus is down to the size of the cup, daffodils have a large trumpet while narcissus have a smaller cup. A well-drained soil, deeply worked and containing some humus us ideal for narcissus and they will not tolerate a waterlogged soil. Yellow River will grow to around 42cm and is recommended for exhibition. It has also been presented the RHS Award of Merit.
