Blue giant is perhaps the most common and certainly the most spectacular of all the agapanthus. Often referred to as the African lily, it is in fact, not a lily at all, rather a member of the asparagus family. Growing up to 1m tall, these spectacular flowers present a huge head of deep indigo-blue florets borne on extremely strong stem. The crowns should be planted 5-10cm deep and should be protected from harsh winter frosts.
