- Description
Eucharis Amazonica is a striking plant with tufts of narrow foliage from which rise strong long spikes closely set with numerous tiny florets. Good drainage is essentia so use a loam based compost, such as John Innes No. 2, mixed with grit or sharp sand, two parts compost to one part grit or sand. Plant tubers with crown level with the soil but not covered. Mark planting area with a cane to avoid treading on the tentacals and causing damage. When the plant is growing strongly ensure that it has plenty of water and feed once every two weeks with a high potash fertiliser, such as tomato feed. Do not let the bulbs dry out.
