This lovely plant was introduced from Natal in the middle of the last century. Slender flower spikes carry attractive light orange bell shaped flowers suspended like little lanterns from arching stems. It also makes an exquisite cut flower lasting a considerable time. Plant from the middle of March in a sheltered South facing position and use pea sticks to support the plants. It is almost hardy in milder districts, but in cold areas start in pots in the greenhouse using a mixture of John Innes No.2 and some sharp river sand.
