Tulips Lily Flowered Tulip Fly Away

Much admired at the Chelsea Flower Show, Fly Away is a rusty red Lily Flowered Tulip with clear yellow edges. Introduced in 1915 Lily Flowered Tulips can trace their origins back to the 18th Century and the Species Tulip acuminata. With long and elegant reflexed pointed petals The Lily Flowered Tulips are best grown in groups within the border with their strong wiry stems. They flower from Late April into May and are on average 50cm tall, with Fly Away in particular growing taller to 60cm.
