- Description
- Time for planting
An outstanding combination of a large white head marked a warm raspberry red. Estella Rijnveld is a Parrot Tulip, a form named as such due to their fringed, feather like petals and vivid wide array of colours. The first Parrot Tulips were found in 1665 with the first of the modern era, ‘Fantasy’ being a sport of ‘Clara Butt’: A Darwin tulip. This is quite common now with most of the Parrot Tulips being a sport of Darwin Tulips, resulting in a similar flowering time of May.
